2024 Arkansas Agriculture, Forests, and Water Conference

July 16 - July 18

ater conferences are everywhere! And, we are rebranding our conference name to capture our audience’s broader interest.  Let’s face it, we are all about “water resources” but there is more to it.

This year, our conference has a new name — “Arkansas Agriculture, Forests, and Water Conference.”  The conference has expanded in recent years beyond its traditional research focus.  And, our organizing committee has grown too.  We represent:

-AR Dept of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources Divisions

-The AR Drinking Water and Forests Collaborative

-Beaver Watershed Alliance

-Illinois River Watershed Partnership

-Arkansas Water Resources Center

Our group works together to design the conference program and agenda.
On July 16-18th, 2024, our two-and-a-half-day event will have a broader focus to cover Arkansas’s agriculture, forests, and water resources. This expanded conference covers multiple topics of interest to stakeholders state-wide and highlights presentations covering NWA, Central AR, and the Delta area.  Conference session themes include:

– Water myths and disinformation
– Science behind the water stories
– State, program, and watershed updates
– Source water protection
– Know the flow and educational opportunities
– Conservation efforts, floodplains and forests
– Groundwater (USGS special session)
– Stakeholder perceptions of groundwater risks and their value.

The early registration price of $100 goes up to $200 on July 1. Discounted registration of $50 is available to students, county extension agents, and landowners. Thank you to the UA Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extensive Service for sponsoring the discount for county agents. Thanks also to the Arkansas Farm Bureau and Arkansas Discovery Farms for sponsoring the landowner discount.
