Where: Mount Sequoyah Woods hard surface trail to the pavilion.
Details: The Alliance is partnering with the City of Fayetteville Parks & Recreation Department to remove invasive bush honeysuckle from the trails of Mount Sequoyah Woods. Volunteers will be taught how to identify this highly invasive understory shrub and methods to remove it, as well as tips on how to replace it with native species.
What is provided: Gloves, tools, water, snacks, and hands-on identification and removal tips for common urban invasive plant species in Northwest Arkansas.
What to bring/wear: We’ll be cutting and hauling brush, so dress in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Long-sleeve shirts and pants are recommended.
Directions: Sign-in will be at the hard-surface trailhead at the corner of S Happy Hollow Road and E Paddock Rd. If coming from west Fayetteville, take MLK/Huntsville Ave east and turn north onto S Happy Hollow Rd. Follow to the trailhead just before The Cliffs apartments. If coming from east Fayetteville, take S Crossover Rd south and turn west onto Cliffs Blvd. Follow the road and turn south at the T, where the trailhead should be immediately on your right.
