Details: The Alliance is partnering with the City of Rogers Park Department to remove invasive privet from along the hard-surface trails of Lake Atalanta, from Clark Pavilion towards The Railyard Bike Park. Volunteers will be taught how to identify this highly invasive understory shrub and methods to remove it, as well as tips on how to replace it with native species.
What is provided: Gloves, tools, water, snacks, and hands-on identification and removal tips for common urban invasive plant species in Northwest Arkansas.
What to bring/wear: We’ll be cutting and hauling brush, so dress in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Long-sleeve shirts and pants are recommended.
Directions: Sign-in will be at Clark Pavilion, on the south side of Walnut St. and across from the main park area. Parking here is limited, but more parking is available in the main park area across the road. If coming from Rogers, take Bus 71 (W. Walnut St.). Follow east into downtown Rogers. Continue following Walnut St. through Rogers. Clark Pavilion will be at the base of the hill on the right. If coming from I-49, take exit 85 and turn east onto W. Walnut St. Continue as above, through Rogers, to Clark Pavilion.
