The Beaver Watershed Alliance is joining the City of Fayetteville to assist with a cleanup of Lake Sequoyah! Please visit the City Calendar for more information.
Join us for a community cleanup at Lake Sequoyah, where volunteers will tackle litter along the shoreline, roads and trails throughout the park! In addition to help on land, we are also seeking paddlers with boats so that we may expand our reach into the many areas on the water where floating debris collects, but is not reachable from the shore.
Supplies, Snacks and Giveaways: The cleanup starts with bagels and coffee, then volunteers will be given supplies and assigned a cleanup spot. T-shirts will be provided at the end of the event.
What to Wear and Bring: Please wear sturdy shoes or rain/muck boots, and remember to bring a refillable water bottle.
Thank you collaborators and sponsors! Beaver Watershed Alliance, University of Arkansas Extension Services, Boston Mountain Solid Waste, Keep Arkansas Beautiful, Beaver Water District, Arkansas Canoe Club, Benton County Environmental Division and Gracie’s Canoe and Camp.
This event is part of Pick Up Where You Play, a series of cleanups happening in Washington and Benton Counties this fall. All participants 18 and older will be entered to win a grand prize of a 2-night cabin stay and float trip for 4 people at Gracie’s Canoe and Camp in Pineville, Mo. on the Elk River!
