The City of Fayetteville and Beaver Watershed Alliance are teaming up to clean up Lake Sequoyah, and we invite you to join us in our efforts to keep this lake clean and beautiful as we tackle litter along the shoreline, roads and trails throughout the park! In addition to help on land, we are also seeking paddlers with boats so that we may expand our reach into the many areas on the water where floating debris collects but is not reachable from the shore.
General Volunteers (on foot): Volunteers will help tackle litter along the shoreline, roads and trails throughout the park.
Paddling Volunteers: We are looking for paddlers with boats to help us get to the floating trash that isn’t reachable from much of the steep and boggy shoreline. (Paddlers will be given a long-sleeve UPF shirt as a thank you for bringing out a boat!)
Volunteers will be provided with supplies (trash bags, gloves, trash-grabbers) and assigned a cleanup spot. As the cleanup wraps up we will provide pizza and for the hard-working volunteers!
Please wear sturdy shoes or rain/muck boots and remember to bring a refillable water bottle.
