The Beaver Watershed Alliance and partners will host a “Water-Smart Neighborhoods” Workshop on Sunday, June 11th from 4 pm – 6 pm. The event will take place at White River Nursery in Fayetteville, AR. Partners include the Pollinator Partnership, BioxDesign, and White River Nursery, and a special thanks to our event sponsors, Cargill Cares, Tegna Foundation, and Walton Family Foundation. Any interested public is invited to attend this free workshop, where participants will learn about water-smart best management practices that are beneficial to urban and suburban properties of any size. Practices like rain gardens, rain barrels, native plantings, no-mow zones, and much more can play a huge role in the urban stormwater fabric of our quickly growing local areas. Attendees will learn how to utilize many of these tools.
Pollinator Partnership will talk about overlapping these practices with pollinator-friendly gardening and lawn care methods, and BioxDesign will speak on a nearby stormwater management project recently designed in the area.
